Say Hello!
    • Matthew - Just saw "Color Me Obsessed" and smiled at the sight of you and the comments you made. I'm the guy you asked to help you sing "Heartache Weather" at the 9:30 Club in DC. The next night I saw you at IOTA. Both nights were minor miracles - business travel with no business dinners. At IOTA I got to speak with you and I tried so hard to express all that your music has meant to me. And I fell way short. Without going into details, I've always said that there are only 2 people I could meet with whom I would basically be catatonic: Bobby Orr and Bob Gibson (St. Louis Cardinals). I wasn't catatonic speaking with you, but I was unable to capture in words how powerful your art is and how much it has meant to me and helped me. Truly helped me. I guess talking about music IS really like dancing about architecture. But, thank you. Thank you very, very much for your art.

    • Matthew, I just bought and Listened to "In The Dusk of Everything" and just wanted to say thank you very much for taking the time to make thoughtful and beautiful. Albums like that are very few and far between. As far as I'm concerned you are up there in the same league of songwriting as Dylan, Springsteen and Mellencamp. Well done on a fantastic album sir I plan on listening to it all day tomorrow and many More days to come. Congratulations again on a fantastic album.

    • looking forward to the latest release. never stop.

    • Matthew and the Gaslight Anthem? Holy mackerel. I'll be there that's for darned sure. Looking forward to the new album.

God is fair, but perhaps a little slow on the uptick.....

PS - The MPLS show a couple of years ago was great. I liked how you went into the crowd and sung unmiked because nobody would stand close to the stage. Welcome to Minnesota. It's nice but they don't like too much involvement. With anyone. But you singing Me and My Lover 2 feet away from my wife and me was cool.

    • Matthew: I'm really looking forward to In The Dusk Of Everything. "She's a Sparrow" is a beauty of a track. Instrumentally, it reminds me of many of my favorite moments from Mayday, East Autumn Grin and Concussion. Very warm and very spare. Also, I'm glad to see you reunite with David Ricketts. Good stuff.

On a side note, a list I submitted to American Songwriter's "On My Deathbed Contest" was selected as the winner for the last issue. One of the albums from my list was East Autumn Grin. If you'd like to check it out, here's a link to my blog post that they published online:

    • Hey guys, thank you for your messages. There will be pre-orders but not until around mid-October, or very close to the release.

Thanks for coming by and stay tuned. We'll be sharing more stuff soon.

      Matthew Ryan

    • Matthew, Do you have a link to pre-order the new album? "She's a Sparrow" is fantastic, as is everything you do. I can't wait to hear the rest. I am glad to see you working with David Ricketts again. I'm a big fan of his work as well, with David Baerwald and others. Will David Ricketts be touring with you?

    • Matthew, hey I really want you to come play my club ... THE GARAGE in Kearney, NE... Give me a shout when you are touring the MidWest!!! Great Hospitality & new Friends & Fans awaiting...!

      See ya soon!

    • NY show at the Living Room was phenomenal, but an hour wasn't enough.... beautiful, moving songs, new and old.

    • Drove 100 miles to see the show at The Saint in Asbury Park last night and I would drive 100 miles more to see the show all over again. I brought two friends who weren't fans and they left Asbury Park with a whole new appreciation...Thanks Matthew for asking for requests at the end of the show. I apologize for asking for the obscure...great evening
